Nursery Admissions

Children born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023 are eligible to start nursery in September 2026. The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 27th February 2026. Parents will be notified of the outcome by Friday 1st May 2026 at the latest.

What we offer...

Latchmere School offers both universal funded places (15 hours) and extended hours places (30 hours).

We offer 14 universal funded paces (15 hours - 7 morning places and 7 afternoon places) and 32 places for extended hours (30hours).

Universal funded places are either morning (8:30am to 11:30am) or afternoon (12:30pm to 3:30pm).

We maintain two separate admissions lists:

·  15 Hours Funded Places
This is for families entitled to the universal 15 hours of free childcare per week. Places will be offered in line with our admissions criteria.

·  30 Hours Extended Funded Places
This is for families eligible for 30 hours of funded childcare per week. Children attend from 8:30am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Families also have the option to extend the day until 3:30pm for an additional £7 per session. A hot lunch is available to purchase for £2.50 per meal.

Additional Hours for Non-Eligible Families
If space allows, families not eligible for 30-hour funding may choose to pay for additional hours beyond the 15 funded hours. The following sessions are available:

  • 3-hour session (either 8:30am–11:30am or 11:30am–2:30pm): £21 per session
  • 4-hour session (either 8:30am–12:30pm or 11:30am–3:30pm): £28 per session

An admissions list will be kept by the school for parents requesting 30 hours places and these will be offered at the appropriate time in accordance to the admission requirements.

Places will be offered as detailed above and any remaining unfilled spaces for either 30 hours or 15 hours will be offered across the 2 admissions lists.

Intake

We have one main intake in September when children can join us in the September following their 3rd birthday provided there are places available. If there are spaces throughout the year, you may be able to apply for an in-year place for your child. Being admitted to our Nursery does not mean that your child will automatically become part of the main school and a separate application has to be made for Reception.
