Most people tend to read words a lot better than they spell them and this is especially true in younger children.

The National Curriculum sets out spelling rules to be learnt according to year group, as well as a list of key exception words for Years 3-6. Each year group will cover these rules throughout the academic year but reinforcing these rules at home will be of huge help to your child.
