Year 5 Meet Helen Sharman

Thursday 13th February was the grand opening of The Kingston Academy’s Stem Centre and Year 5 were asked to take five children to hear a talk by, and meet Helen Sharman, Britain’s first astronaut. After an informative and interesting talk by Helen, Emma, Fay, Corey, Amish and Noam took part (alongside four TKA students) in a spaghetti challenge.

There were three teams in our room and our boys got the prize for the tallest spaghetti tower that would hold a marshmallow upright. Their design was excellent. The prize of a tub of chocolates was graciously shared between all the competitors. We all had a super time and we thank TKA for asking us to share in the experience.
