Planting and Celebration Day

Hedgehogs Class were thrilled to be invited by the community group, FOLAR, to take part in the planting of new hedges on Latchmere Recreation Ground last Friday. The aim is to develop this part of the Rec as a wild life area. The hedging we helped to plant is native to the UK, which is ideal for encouraging birds, bees, butterflies and the widest variety of insects. Hedgehogs Class worked hard to clear the area of litter before helping with the planting. We found out lots of interesting information from a conservation officer from the Environment Trust, who told us all about native hedges. What an exciting afternoon!

Thank you to the parents who volunteered their time to help us.
