Choir perform at Rose Theatre

On Tuesday 19th June, Latchmere School went to the Rose Theatre to take part in the Festival of School Choirs. There were four mass pieces which was when all the schools came together to perform songs. The first two were ‘The Ballad of Sweeney Todd’ from the musical Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and ‘Rodgers and Hammerstein Medley’ which was a combination of songs from the musicals The Sound of Music, The King and I, Oklahoma and Carousel.

After the two mass pieces, we were the first to perform our individual items, ‘Macavity: the Mystery Cat’ from the musical Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber and ‘I got rhythm’ from Girl Crazy by George Gershwin. After the schools had performed their own individual items we sung the other two mass pieces, ‘Heart and Music’ from A new Brain and ‘One day More’ from Les Miserables. The parents and teachers who accompanied us thought we sung brilliantly.
