Social networking is hugely popular. Many young people are sophisticated in the way they use social media apps and websites, but social media, like all forms of public communication, comes with some risks.
This is why social networking sites have age restrictions in place. You currently have to be 13 years old in order to have an Instagram account. It is advised that if your child has an Instagram account and they are under this age, their activity on the app should be closely monitored. While they may understand how to use social media, they may not understand how to use it wisely.
